Scott’s
team are busy organising trips to Budapest for
the spring.
- Budapest is ideally situated in the
centre of an enlarging Europe.
- Vibrant and yet peaceful, the city treasures
the old while embracing the new.
- Budapest is divided into 2 parts, the hilly part
of Buda on the Western Bank of the Danube
and the flat plain of Pest on the Eastern Bank
- Unlike most countries, Hungary has only one major
city - Budapest. The city dominates the Hungarian
economy, attracting almost 60% of total foreign
investment. The Population of Hungary is
c.10 million, and c.2.2 million are located in Budapest.
- To-date, Hungary has been the most successful
of the former eastern bloc countries in attracting
foreign direct investment.
- It is busy attracting investment from companies
and individuals alike.
- Hungary continues to demonstrate strong economic
growth; from a fairly poor position it has
managed to control inflation and unemployment; both have
reduced drastically in the recent past. This
economic picture can only improve with accession
to the EU.
- Budapest is a major European-wide tourist centre
relaying on thermal springs, medicinal baths
and wide cultural base within the city limits
to attract foreign tourists.
- The newly empowered middle classes are lining
up to buy their first homes.
